Involvement in SWIDFC is an integral part of a Chief Officer’s professional development and can significantly impact your effectiveness as a leader. SWIDFC is an association for Urban and Rural Fire Departments, Fire Districts, and EMS Departments that:

• Choose to promote issues and enhance opportunities to support prevention activities and all risk emergencyservices.
• Set-up, maintain, support, and identify funding mechanisms for mutual aid in the State of Idaho for all riskemergencies.
• Actively pursue opportunities to be involved in the Idaho State Legislature to meet the objectives of theorganization.
• Establish a venue to share information among the membership of Idaho.
• Develop and share regional standards for safety, fire inspection/prevention programs, training standards,EMS, and suppression activities in Idaho.

Regular membership shall consist of those Chief Officers or equivalent officers as designated by each respective department, EMS district, or Fire District Chief or Director. Regular membership is intended for officers who are active members from a career, combination, volunteer, fire or EMS service agency, and is limited to agencies that are a political subdivision of the state of Idaho.
